Free 5v5 flag football plays
Start with a small, repeatable system: Strong or Trips on offense, Zone or Man + safety on defense. Five players means a quarterback, an eligible center and three receivers. Change the call without making everyone learn a new play.

Make the checkdown part of the offense
Strong Left or Right is a pass: two crossing slants and an out, with C releasing into open space to either side beyond the line of scrimmage. Find someone open rather than naming a first receiver. Victor changes only the slot’s out to a go. Trips puts the three receivers on one side with separated crossing depths. For a run, the outside receiver sweeps behind the quarterback after the snap while teammates clear the opposite side. There is no running back in this 5v5 system.
Plan the defense too
Base zone has four defenders spread across the same underneath level and one deep safety. Man gives each eligible receiver a matchup and leaves the extra defender at safety. Neither base defense has a designated blitzer. An optional zone adjustment sends the safety and drops a central defender into the safety role; use it sparingly and confirm the legal rush mark.
Check eligibility, motion, rushing and running restrictions with your organizer. Use the league-neutral rules checklist.

When fewer players show up
Moving down from 6v6? Remove the running back and their outlet. Keep C’s checkdown and the familiar receiver jobs; use the sweep for a running call. With four players, copy a 5v5 play into the editor, remove a receiver, and recheck every assignment. Dedicated 4v4 plays are not included.
Agree any game-format change with the organizer and opponent. See the attendance adaptation guide.
